Anyone Lead, I Follow - Typically the Non-Leader

A great deal of focus has been placed on becoming a good leader. In fact , there may be more literature about fine leadership than any other operations topic. This is because leadership masks not only management, but it consists of teams, motivation and even each of our social lives.

But what of the testers who consider themselves non-leaders?

If you are contented to follow, you will be, by definition, a fan. Yet, the reality is that no person is a 100% follower. Anyone, bar non-e, will in the past or another be in a control position.

?Anyone knows a fantastic restaurant around here? ?

A timid hands arises, and Timid Tim affirms, ?I do. Follow us. ?

No! That is not management! Yes, I can hear individuals protests loud and obvious. Now, Timid Tim commences walking, turns a corner, falls off a flight of stairway, turns another corner in the mean time muttering to himself about precisely how wonderful that restaurant is usually. Then, when he arrives, they are alone. Somewhere along the way, they manages to lose the entire group.

Confident, that is not LEADERSHIP, but possibly this simple example of primary a small group serves showing that at some point, you have to guide.

When speakers talk about command and how everyone should be skilled and about how everyone is a frontrunner, there are many scoffers. They think that it is all about selling more training seminars. Or it is just hot air for you to encourage the ?others? in order that they don?t feel too bad. Rarely.

In our many capacities, we live followers in some and commanders in others. It is expected. Have you ever followed someone with the IQ less than yours for the reason that he knew where the potty was and you don?t?

Control skills are especially important in the home. At work, there is always some one willing to step up to the plate. Many of us want to excel. Be offered. Be noticed. One man?s faltering is another man?s escalator.

But at home, there is only you and your family. Think about that. The alternative for someone else to ?step to the plate? are not too numerous in the home.

So , the next time you will have a chance to attend a ?leadership workshop? or a leadership webinar, don?t pass up the chance because you think you are not a leader.
